Welcome to the Oaks Surgery

Retirement and Moving On....

We will be bidding a very fond farewell to Drs Mufti, Gregson and Farrant at the end of March. Between them they have served the Swanley community for almost sixty years and have seen much change in that time. We wish all three lots of luck in their next adventures - but we hope there will be time for a well-deserved break first!

Notification to patients for the digitisation of Lloyd George records

From the 21st July 2022, The Oaks Partnership will be conducting a project to digitise all of our historic paper based patient medical records commonly known as Lloyd George medical records.   Digitising these records will enable better utilisation of practice space, increase security as well as making the full patient record easily accessible at the point of care to clinical staff within the practice.

On completion of the digitisation process, paper based records will be securely destroyed.  The scanning and destruction of the paper records will follow strict data protection guidelines adhered to by the NHS.

During this process we will not be able to complete subject access requests or give access to paper based patient records for requests from insurance companies or solicitors.

Changes to guidance on Face Coverings in GP Practices

Masks are no longer mandatory in some healthcare settings.  As a practice we would like to say a big thank you to our patients over the past months in adhering to face mask wearing whilst at the practice.  You may continue to do so if it is your preference.  We ask patients who attend with respiratory symptoms to continue to wear them; along with any vulnerable/immunosuppressed patients, who we will seat away from the main waiting room.

Welcome to Dr Quratulain and Dr Raveendra

We recently welcomed Dr Quratulain to the practice and will also be welcoming Dr Raveendra later in the month

Exciting times ahead for The Oaks Partnership and Cedars Surgery

Community Pharmacy Consultation Service

Did you know…?

We are participating in a new approach to improve access for patients to GP appointments. The aim is to direct patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional, which may be a GP or a pharmacist.

Now, if your symptoms could be resolved by a booked consultation with the pharmacist instead of the GP, you will be given a same-day referral to a pharmacy of your choice.  We think this is a good thing. Once you see how great your local pharmacist is – they are highly trained and skilled clinicians experienced in treating minor illnesses – we don’t think you’ll look back.

This will also help us to free up GP appointments for people with more complex health needs and ensure that everyone gets treated at the right time, by the right healthcare professional.

We are keen to hear what you think and will be listening to your comments and feedback about your experience of using this service.

Information on Repeat Medication ordering

Please download the NHS APP, or other medical apps such as Patient Access, to arrange your repeat medication.  You can request medication repeats even when we are closed this way.

For prescription queries, the Oaks now has a dedicated telephone number, which may be accessed from 9am to 1pm each day on 01322 619909.
